Junior goes to Hawaii

Warren goes to Hawaii

“ ... it was an escape from his medical reality. ”

Towering palm trees, sandy beaches, stunning scenery, and balmy temperatures are enough to make anyone want to visit the tropical Hawaiian Islands. But for 18-year-old Warren ‘Junior,’ visiting Hawaii was more than a vacation, it was an escape from his medical reality.

Diagnosed six years ago with a progressive form of dystonia, a neurological, movement disorder, Junior has spent enough time indoors with doctors and therapists. It was time for some fun in the sun.

Greeted in the tradition Hawaiian way, with leis and “Alohas”, Junior and his family began their one-week adventure on the islands of Hawaii. Junior didn’t want to miss out on any of the fun activities Hawaii had to offer. During his wish trip he went on a submarine tour, learned how to surf with the help of private surf instructors, explored the ocean on jet skis and attended a traditional Hawaiian luau.

After their time spent in Hawaiian bliss, Junior and his family left with unforgettable memories and experiences to treasure for a lifetime.

Wells Enterprises, Inc., makers of Blue Bunny® ice cream, is celebrating their 100th birthday in 2013 and has aligned with Make-A-Wish® to make their 100th birthday wish come true – that 100 kids with life-threatening medical conditions have their wishes granted.

Junior's wish was the one of the 100 wishes to be granted through this program. Visit100Years100Wishes.com to read about all of the wishes being granted. While you’re there, sign the Wish Card to enter your personal words of encouragement for every wish fulfilled.

We all had a dream vacation in Paradise. ”
