Ava, a 4-year-old girl from Belcourt with a genetic disorder, is getting her wish granted! Make-A-Wish® North Dakota is making Ava’s wish of having a pink playhouse with a slide come true.
The wish reveal will happen at 5:00pm on Friday, May 20th at the family’s home in Belcourt where Ava’s brand new playhouse will be waiting in the backyard.
Ava is a little girl who loves playing outside! One of her favorite pastimes is playing and watching baseball so at the reveal a baseball game will take place as well, including all her close friends and family.
Her playhouse looks like a miniature home with white siding and, by Ava’s specific request, pink trim. The house will also have a slide coming down from the loft.
This day will be an exciting one for Ava and her family. It will be an entire evening of celebrating Ava’s wish coming true. Even more importantly Ava will be able to enjoy her wish for years to come. With two older brothers this dollhouse creates a space for Ava that is just her own.
It’s sometimes hard for Ava, who has been hospitalized several times, to get out and play but now with her new playhouse she will have even more incentive to keep doing the things she loves and enjoy the great outdoors!
Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Since its inception in 1985, Make-A-Wish North Dakota has granted over 750 wishes to children across the state.
