AnnaLeigh, a 14-year-old girl from Fargo with congenital heart disease, has been counting down the days until she leaves for her wish experience provided through Make-A-Wish® North Dakota. Her one true wish is to meet Reba McEntire in Nashville, Tennessee!
On Thursday, February 11, AnnaLeigh and her family will begin their wish journey and fly to Tennessee on Delta Airlines. During their trip, AnnaLeigh and her family will have the chance to enjoy time together without worrying about doctor visits, therapy appointments, or the day to day struggles of parenting or being a child with a life-threatening medical condition. Instead, AnnaLeigh and her family will be joining Reba, by her invitation, at the Hearts of Hope Luncheon in Nashville and treated to many other amazing experiences.
Making wishes come true is what Make-A-Wish is so privileged to do. Seventy percent of our wishes are travel wishes and we cannot grant them without airline miles from generous donors like you. Nationally, Make-A-Wish needs more than 2.8 billion miles, or 50,000 round-trip tickets, to cover every travel wish each year. We rely on airline mile donations from caring individuals to help us grant truly magical wishes to kids with life-threatening medical conditions.
Everyone can help make wishes come true, wishes like AnnaLeigh’s. If you have airline miles waiting to be used, please share them with the children Make-A-Wish serves. A bonus is that the miles do not expire for us. Make wishes come true by donating online at www.northdakota.wish.org or calling us at 701.280.9474.
Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Since its inception in 1985, Make-A-Wish North Dakota has granted over 750 wishes to children across the state.
