(Fargo, ND) – May 29, 2013 – Most of us have a means of escape when the pressure’s of life start to get us down; a spa day, time with friends or simply watching a sporting event. But what if those pressures never went away? What if you were told those hardships were going to be a part of your daily life forever? That is the situation for 7-year-old Kaylee Ribich. Despite the severity of her situation Kaylee, like the rest of us, has an escape from reality, the magical Disney princesses.
Kaylee is dually diagnosed with cerebral palsy and hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, a condition in which the brain does not receive enough oxygen. Born premature by 11 weeks Kaylee has been a regular at doctor’s offices and clinics her entire life and is in need of some serious princess time.
When asked what she would like for a wish, Kaylee replied without hesitation, “To meet ALL the Disney princesses!” From her decorated room, to her wardrobe, Kaylee’s admiration for the Disney princesses is apparent. “They are so pretty and nice” she goes on to tell Make-A-Wish® volunteers.
Kaylee and her family will depart for Florida on June 18th to begin a week filled with Disney fun! While in Florida Kaylee and her family will be staying at Give Kids the World Village, which is a fantasy resort that hosts children with life-threatening illnesses. In addition to the many amenities provided by the resort, Kaylee and her family will be dining at Cinderella’s Royal Table, visiting the numerous Disney theme parks, and of course they are going to meet ALL the Disney Princesses.
When asked why she wanted to go to Walt Disney World® Kaylee gave a big smile and replied, “I would remember it forever and ever”.
Packers Plus will be sponsoring Kaylee’s wish trip. Kaylee is Packers Plus’s fourth wish sponsored since 2009. Packers Plus is the proud supporter of one wish per year and we thank them for their friendship and generosity.
