Dash visits Walt Disney World® Resort

Dash and Lego people

“ Dash felt like a normal kid! ”

- Wish mom, Kara

Dash was excited when he found out his wish of going to Walt Disney World® Resort was coming true and even more excited when he found out he wouldn’t have to wait in any lines to go on rides!

Family with castle

Dash, a 9-year-old boy with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and his family got the full Disney World experience during Dash’s wish made possible by Make-A-Wish® North Dakota. They went on rides, met their favorite characters and so much more. They had the chance to visit LEGOLAND®, a must for a Lego loving kid like Dash, as well as visiting SeaWorld® and exploring the magical Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Dash and his family kept nice and busy through the duration of their trip.

However, all that activity was a welcome change of pace for the family, instead of dealing with chemotherapy appointments and doctor visits they were able to enjoy fun adventures as a family and Dash got to enjoy focusing on something other than his illness.

“Dash felt like a normal kid and forgot about leukemia during our trip. It was amazing,” said Dash’s mom, Kara.

Dash was referred for his wish by a CNA who is also a Make-A-Wish® volunteer. His wish experience has given Dash hope, strength and joy  to finish his last chemotherapy treatments. Dash and brother with Universal sign

Our entire family took a much needed break from the everyday stress of leukemia. We made so many wonderful memories! ”
