Kids For Wish Kids is a program designed to help students get involved in helping make wishes come true for medically eligible kids in the state of North Dakota.
The program provides schools and service groups the opportunity to engage students in philanthropy and service activities through sponsoring wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions. This can include things like holding fundraisers and creating things that help make wishes extra special and memorable for wish kids and their families.
Students manage it entirely including forming committees, coming up with fundraising ideas, and carrying them out. Teachers and parents often serve as advisors, but ownership of the group belongs solely to the kids involved. Students also gain valuable skills throughout the program by fostering the value of community service. It also provides a mechanism for building school spirit and creating additional partnerships between children, teachers and the community outside the classroom.
