Make-A-Wish® North Dakota has named its Fiscal Year 2019 Board of Directors. Newly elected member, and wish father, Dan Conrad, Executive Vice President & Chief Legal Officer for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota, has joined the statewide board. He will bring strategic guidance and valuable insight to the existing leadership. His time and talents will help the chapter continue to grant more life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses across the state of North Dakota.
In addition to a new board member, the Make-A-Wish North Dakota Board has approved changes in its officers. Pastor Bruce Vold, former Vice-Chair Elect and Hatton native, will lead as Board Chair. Christine Gauthier and Josh Herbold of Fargo will serve as Vice-Chair Elect and Treasurer, respectively. Rounding out the officers will be Mandan native DJ Campbell, as Secretary.
These changes were celebrated last week at the second annual New Fiscal Year’s Eve celebration hosted by Make-A-Wish North Dakota. Wish families, board members and volunteers joined staff at the Dakota Zoo in Bismarck to celebrate a successful Fiscal Year 2018. Make-A-Wish North Dakota granted 38 unique wishes from across the state throughout the year. That’s 38 families whose lives were impacted by the transformational power of a wish. The wishes granted ranged from wishing to go to Hawaii to wishing for a playset and from wishing to meet YouTube stars to wishing to have a tea party with the Princesses. The celebration of these life-changing wishes was sponsored by Northrop Grumman and provided an opportunity to build excitement for the year ahead.
“I am excited to partner with the new Board of Directors this fiscal year as we endeavor to reach every eligible child in North Dakota. A wish is not just nice, it is necessary. With such passionate and engaged leadership, we will continue to grant about a wish a week and be a positive part of the health journey for children with critical illnesses,” expresses Make-A-Wish North Dakota President and CEO, Billi Jo Zielinski.
The Make-A-Wish North Dakota Board of Directors is comprised of 15 members from across the state, representing the best and brightest in the areas of health care, finance, fundraising, management, law and the faith community.
