Ryder, an 8-year-old girl from Carrington, living with CHARGE syndrome, will experience the trip of a lifetime soon. Make-A-Wish North Dakota is proud to grant Ryder’s wish to go to Disney’s Animal Kingdom®.
On Saturday, February 11, volunteer wish granters Deb and Karen are hosting a send-off party for Ryder. A fun filled pizza party awaits Ryder. During this party her wish granters will share all the specific details about her wish, including the fact that her wish is coming true the very next day!
A special thank you to the Gladstone Inn & Suites and Pizza Ranch for their support of Ryder’s send off party.
On Sunday, February 12, Ryder and her family will fly to Orlando, Florida and leave behind the cold and snow for sunshine and warm weather. They’ll spend a week packed with special activities, fun, time together as a family and so much more.
Ryder and her family will be staying at Give Kids the World® Village, where there will be numerous activities and fun things for the family to do. In addition to her time at Animal Kingdom®, Ryder will have the opportunity to visit other Walt Disney World® Resort attractions including Hollywood Studios™, Magic Kingdom® and Epcot®.
At Animal Kingdom®, Ryder and her family will be able to tour the African savanna, take in the Festival of the Lion King show, and meet Rafiki from the Lion King. In addition, there are lots of other fun things to see and do while they are there.
Getting the chance to have her one true wish come true means a lot to Ryder and her family. This trip gives them the chance to focus on something fun and exciting and bring joy to Ryder’s life and not think about her medical condition.
Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Since its inception in 1985, Make-A-Wish North Dakota has granted over 800 wishes to children across the state.
