Luke, a 4-year-old McHenry boy lives with inflammatory muscular disease. He and his family are ready to dig into the adventure of a lifetime. Luke’s wish is to visit Diggerland, a brand new construction themed amusement park located in West Berlin, New Jersey. Luke aspires to be just like his dad who works with heavy equipment and this wish will let him do just that. Diggerland gives families and children the opportunity to drive, ride and operate heavy machinery in a safe, family-friendly environment!
While Diggerland is sure to be the highlight of his wish experience, Luke and his family will also visit Adventure Aquarium in Camden, New Jersey. Located on the Delaware River Camden Waterfront, the aquarium features one-of-a-kind exhibits with more than 8,500 aquatic species throughout two million gallons of water.
Besides the fun and adventure of the attractions they’ll visit, Luke’s wish will be a chance to spend time as a family, not thinking about doctor visits or other day to day worries when living with a life-threatening medical condition. This wish will give the family a chance to make life-long memories and Luke will get plenty of time to be with his dad.
Wish granters, Angela Twete and Trish Schindele, planned an exciting wish reveal for Luke with the generous help of Butler Machinery in Devils Lake. Luke’s wish reveal allowed him the chance to see the big yellow trucks his dad uses up close and he got to experience them from the cab instead of just watching them work. It was an amazing prelude to his wish coming true.
